Hi, I’m Bridget.

Welcome to It’s Okay to Not Be Okay Counseling.

I know looking at websites for therapists can be a daunting task. If you struggle with running/racing thoughts, tend to put your needs last in order to not disappoint others, feel as though you may never achieve your full potential, or are grieving a loss… I am here to help.

How I Can Help

My Counseling Style

I am as human as human can be during your session. I will listen to you and help validate your feelings and your experiences. In my counseling sessions, I want you to feel free to express yourself emotionally in whatever manner it comes. I never allow my clients to apologize for crying, cursing (I will admit, I curse as well as sometimes it just is needed), becoming frustrated or feeling overwhelmed in a session with me.

This Is Your Time

This is your space to let the walls come down and reveal your true self. If this is uncomfortable for you at first, that is understandable as it can be quite awkward telling a stranger all about your experiences and life. I will give you your space until you are ready to share what has brought you to counseling.

Our Work Together

I help client’s identify and decipher if the self-defeating thoughts are truly their own thoughts, or are they preconceived thoughts that have been put in place by others hurtful words or actions. Self-awareness is the key to having a better understanding of how the mind and body are connected. Separating the intrusive thoughts from one’s sense of self in order to embrace their true self is one of my main goals with clients.

Become Your Best Self

I try to make the counseling environment a safe, non-judgmental zone, and also fun at times because laughter is not only needed, but feels good sometimes. I will provide you with empathy, even when you don’t know how to process it. Last, I provide you with the necessary skills and tools to become the best version of you that you can be.
